I started building software in 2016. At that point it was websites and web applications — the usual path.

In 2020, during the lockdown, I found Bitcoin. Not the speculation — the actual technology. The 21 million cap. The proof of work. The idea of money that no government can inflate and no bank can freeze.

I spent most of that year reading. Saifedean Ammous. Gigi. The whitepaper. By the time I surfaced, I had decided that this was worth teaching people about.

Sri Lanka in 2022 made that decision feel even more urgent. The rupee lost more than 70% of its value in a matter of months. Fuel queues stretched for miles. Banks froze accounts. The entire country watched its savings evaporate because of decisions made by people most Sri Lankans had never met.

I built uvin.lk to give Sri Lankans free access to honest Bitcoin education. No financial advice. No price predictions. Just the fundamentals, explained clearly, in English and Sinhala. 10,000 people have gone through it so far.

I also wrote a 180-page book — The Rise of Bitcoin — for people who prefer something they can read offline.

In 2024, I went to Token 2049 Asia in Singapore. One of the largest crypto conferences in the world. I was there representing the work being done in Sri Lanka.

On the development side, I joined Terra Labz as Director of Blockchain and Software Solutions. Terra Labz works with clients across Sri Lanka, Dubai, London, and the US. That gave me access to serious engineering problems at a level I hadn’t worked at before.

I also run GemStore.lk, which exports Ceylon gemstones from our own mines in Eheliyagoda directly to buyers in the UK, USA, and Europe. And two mineral export businesses targeting the semiconductor and solar industries.
